Waterbury Man Faces Drug Charge In Monroe

MONROE, Conn. — A routine traffic stop led to a drug charge for a Waterbury man Sunday night, police said.

Around 9 p.m., a Monroe police officer pulled over Brian Rodrigues, 27, of Tracy Avenue, for an equipment violation and smelled the odor of marijuana coming from his vehicle, police said.

A search of Rodrigues and the car revealed three grams of marijuana, three grams of marijuana hash and 16 stamps of LSD, police said.

Rodrigues was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and held on $500 bond.

He is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 31.
