All three men killed in a single-car crash over the weekend in Hamden were either current or former Fairfield County residents.
Officials said that Monroe resident Maksims Frolovs, 21, was driving near the intersection of Route 40 and Whitney Avenue at approximately 2:30 a.m. on Sunday morning when he lost control and struck a tree.
Bridgeport resident Edmonds Mihalenkos, 26, and Derby resident Hiadlas DeOliveira, 29, were also killed. DeOliveira was a Danbury High School graduate.
The crash remains under investigation, though Frolovs was reportedly speeding and crossed over several lanes of traffic.
