Stamford Shoplifting Suspect Arrested In Westport

WESTPORT, Conn. – A Bridgeport woman was arrested Monday in Westport on three warrants out of Stamford after she was stopped for driving under an expired registration, police said.

Officers discovered Yesenia Torres, 25, was wanted by Stamford police for allegedly failing to appear on charges stemming from a shoplifting incident, police said. She was additionally found to be driving with a suspended license, police said.

Torres was issued a promise to appear notice for Norwalk Superior Court for the motor vehicle charges. For the failure to appear charge, she was released after posting a $500 bond and is due Aug. 3 in Stamford Superior Court.
