Search Continues For Westport Bank Robber

WESTPORT, Conn. — Westport Police are continuing their search for a tall, heavily built black man with a scruffy beard who robbed a bank on Sunday, July 2, police said.

At 12:57 p.m., Westport police received an alarm call from the TD Bank at 1111 Post Road E.

While units were responding, bank staff called Westport Police to report that they had been robbed. The suspect was described as a black male, who is 6-foot-1 with a heavy build and scruffy beard. He was wearing a Chicago Bulls baseball cap.

A note was handed to a teller implying the robber was armed, but no weapon was displayed, police said. The suspect made off with an undetermined amount of cash.

The Westport Police Department is seeking the assistance of the public in identifying the suspect pictured above. Anyone who recognizes the suspect or has information is asked to call the Westport Detective Bureau at 203-341-6080.
