Christopher Anderson, 56, was arrested on Tuesday around 1:30 a.m. after an officer was running a radar detail. Officer Thomas Casimiro observed a vehicle speeding south on the Sherwood Island Connector. The vehicle reached a speed of 96 mph.

Police said as the officer pulled out to stop the vehicle, the suspect turned off all the vehicle lights. The driver did not slow down for the stop sign before making a left hand turn onto the Interstate 95 Northbound ramp. While on the ramp, the operator cut off another vehicle, nearly running it off of the road. As soon as the driver got onto I-95, he cut over three lanes of traffic and nearly crashed into several vehicles. The vehicle was finally stopped on I95.

Anderson was taken into custody and transported to police headquarters. He has a court date in Norwalk on March 9.
