The owner of Loving Hands Home Care reported Tuesday that a Milford bank told her two men — one from Stratford and one from West Haven — were attempting to cash checks that appeared to be from her business, police said.

A bank teller cashed the Stratford man’s check for $907, which was made out to him, but became suspicious when the second man came in with an identical check also for $907, police said.

Each of the men has an extensive criminal record, including arrests for forgery, police said.

Neither of the men is a Loving Hands employee.

The incident is under investigation.
