Aaron Tucker, 32, jumped off the Norwalk-bound bus and used a shirt he had been given at his Bridgeport halfway house as a tourniquet on the injured man’s head.
The 61-year-old driver suffered injuries after his car struck a tree and flipped over shortly after 11:30 a.m. in front of 1701 Post Road E. at Westfair Drive, the Westport News said.
Scott Luciani, an EMT, and Paul Szegedy, who both work at Vautrin Auto Services, also went to help, the Westport News said. They tried to extinguish an engine fire, then pulled the driver from the car and administered first aid, the Westport News said,
The man sustained head trauma and was transported to Norwalk Hospital, where he was in stable condition, the Westport News said.
The Post Road East was closed through most of the afternoon after the crash for the cleanup and investigation.
