Sisters Charged in Animal Hospital Theft

Two Stamford sisters were caught on camera allegedly stealing from a Westport animal hospital, and "Smile, you're on candid camera," probably wasn't the phrase the arresting officers used.

According to police reports, Debra and Susan Tandet, both 49, were arrested early Sunday morning by Orange police and turned over to Westport police on a warrant. The two were wanted for an April incident in which they  were allegedly seen stealing vitamin supplements from Schulhoff Animal Hospital on Post Road East on the hospital's surveillance system.

Both were charged with sixth-degree larceny and are due in court on Dec. 22.

Also from the police blotter:

Bridgeport resident John Jones was arrested Saturday afternoon by Westport police on a warrant. According to police, the warrant stems from a July incident in which  Jones, 57, allegedly stole candle sticks from Leonce Antique's on Post Road East. The candle sticks were valued at approximately $985. Jones was charged with fifth-degree larceny and is due in court on Dec. 21.
