NORWALK, Conn -- Golf enthusiasts and supporters of Stepping Stones Museum for Children returned to The Stanwich Club in Greenwich on Thursday, Oct. 6, for the 13th annual Swing Into It! Golf Tournament. Proceeds from the event benefitted Open Arms, an initiative to ensure that the museum’s educational exhibits and programs are accessible to less fortunate communities in the region.

Swing Into It! featured a luncheon and a round of golf on the esteemed Stanwich Club golf course, followed by cocktails, a buffet reception, a raffle and a silent auction. Golfers were treated to summer-like weather, scenic fall foliage and a fun day on the golf course with friends and family.

The annual golf tournament directly supported the Open Arms initiative created by Stepping Stones Museum for Children. The unique program makes it possible for every child, family and school to enjoy the museum’s exhibits, gallery activities and themed events regardless of any financial, language or special needs barriers.

Open Arms provides free and reduced admission access to Stepping Stones and its off-site educational experiences for thousands of children and families annually. This year, the Swing Into It! Golf Tournament raised more than $65, 000 in support of the museum’s accessibility initiative.

Reaching more than 45,000 children, caregivers and teachers throughout the region this year, Open Arms offers free evening events on the first Thursday of every month, along with free traveling events for schools and numerous educational, informational and learning experiences for parents and children.
