What To Do In Westport This Weekend

Saturday, March 9

Westport Library Winter Book Sale: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Hundreds of items will be on sale, including vintage comic books, fiction and nonfiction novels, children's books, vinyl records and more. Admission is free. Sale continues Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m. Westport Library, McManus Room, 20 Jesup Road. 

Sunday, March 10

Penguin Plunge: 1 p.m. Brave the icy water of Westport's Compo Beach to help raise funds for Special Olympics Connecticut. Participants are asked to raise a minimum of $75. For more information, or to register for the event, call 203-380-9990 or visit the event website. Compo Beach.

WACky Family Day: 1 to 3 p.m. Using re-purposed materials, children and families will build, assemble, and create whimsical works of art inspired by the current exhibition "William Wegman: The Traveler."  Projects will include human-animal collage portraits, postcard assemblage, toy sculpture creations and more. Cost is $10 per child (adults and kids under 2 are free.) Westport Arts Center, 51 Riverside Ave.
