The 1984 Ivan Reitman comedy classic starring Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, the late Harold Ramis and Sigourney Weaver follows a ragtag group of “parapsychology professionals” as they save New York City from the paranormal.
The big screen showing with FM car stereo sound is scheduled for 7 p.m. Oct. 1 at Compo Beach. It is being organized by Homes with Hope and the Westport Cinema Initiative, according to a statement announcing the event.
Entrance to the beach that evening will cost $30 per car. Proceeds will benefit the Westport Cinema Initiative and Homes with Hope of Westport, a local charity that provides the homeless and at-risk homeless with food, emergency shelter, permanent supportive housing and other supportive services, according to organizers.
The Joey’s by the Sea restaurant will be open and offering food for purchase during the show, according to organizers, who added that the movie will be shown in the Westport Town Hall auditorium in the event of inclement weather.
