Westport Pops Concert Sells Out As Levitt Pavilion Prepares For New Season

WESTPORT, Conn. – Tickets for the first annual Westport Pops Concert on Thursday at the Levitt Pavilion for the Performing Arts are sold out, but there will be a waiting list at "will call" the night of the concert.

The gate opens at 5:30 p.m.; concert begins at 7 p.m. The concert will give voice to four of premier performing groups at Staples High School: the symphonic orchestra, the chamber orchestra, the jazz band and the Orphenians, a 33-voice by-audition mixed vocal group. The students performing represent the best musicians the department trains.

The performance will be recorded for showing on Cablevision’s Public Access Channel. Emmy Award-winner Andrew Wilk, executive producer of “Live From Lincoln Center,” will work with the Staples media department to produce the program.

The Levitt Pavilion for the Performing Arts is located at 40 Jesup Road, Westport.
