Bucatini Could Be The Next Big Thing In Westport With Opening Of Amis

WESTPORT, Conn. -- Get your tastebuds ready, Westport. A new restaurant loaded with rustic and seasonally driven small plates, handcrafted pastas, local seafood and antipasti selections will open Friday, March 31.

Amis Westport, complete with an open kitchen, hails from the Philadelphia-based Vetri Family of Restaurants and will feature a variety of traditional and contemporary offerings including Swordfish Meatballs with creamy polenta, Sal’s Meatballs, Pork Parmigiana and Bucatini with jalapeno and almond pesto.

Expect a beverage program that will include an eclectic and global wine program, Italian craft beers, and well-balanced granita cocktails, along with an expansive list of digesti.

Executive Chef Brad Spence, a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, will lead the kitchen. Spence trained under Chef George Marrone at the acclaimed Fifth Floor in San Francisco as well as with award-winning Chef Tom Colicchio at Manhattan's Craftbar, and later Mario Batali at Casa Mono, also in NYC.
