FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- The weather in Fairfield County will become more humid throughout the day on Monday ahead of a week that could include a few thunderstorms.
Monday is expected to be mostly sunny, with a high near 82, according to the National Weather Service. A warm front approaching late in the day could bring in a more humid air mass, and it will be noticeably more muggy by the end of the day. There is a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon.
Monday night will be mostly cloudy, with a low around 70. There is a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms hitting tonight.
The probability of storms increases Tuesday, when there is a 50 percent chance of precipitation. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected to hit mainly after 10 a.m. Some of the storms could be strong or severe. The high on Tuesday will be near 85. Tuesday night will also see scattered showers and storms, but will be mostly cloudy with a low around 70.
There is a chance of showers and thunderstorms on Wednesday afternoon. Otherwise the day will be partly sunny, with a high near 86. The chance of precipitation is 30 percent. On Wednesday night there is a 40 percent chance of showers. The low will be around 68.
Thursday will see a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Otherwise it will be mostly cloudy with a high near 84. Thursday night will also be mostly cloudy, though there is also a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. The low will be around 66.
On Friday there is a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. The high will be near 79. Friday night will see a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 11 p.m. Otherwise the night will be mostly cloudy with a low around 64.
