More Snow Possible During Chilly Weekend In Westport

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- Slippery conditions are likely on Fairfield County roads as more snow could fall Thursday morning before mostly clearing up for the weekend.

The county received an average of about a half inch of snow overnight, according to the National Weather Service. There is a chance of light snow continuing through around 11 a.m., with potentially 1 to 2 inches forecast in some areas. Roadways may become covered, creating slippery conditions. Drivers are urged to use extra caution while traveling Thursday morning.

It is expected to clear up by 11 a.m., leading to mostly sunny weather for the rest of the day. The high will be near 31, with wind chill values between 15 and 20. Thursday night will be mostly clear, with a low around 11.

Friday will be partly sunny, with a high near 28. Wind chill values will be between 10 and 20. 

There is a 20 percent chance of snow on Friday night. Otherwise it will be mostly cloudy, with a steady temperature around 26 and wind chill values between 15 and 20.

Saturday will be mostly sunny, with a high near 33. There will be a west wind blowing between 9 and 14 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Saturday night will be mostly clear, with a low around 20.

It will be mostly sunny on Sunday, when the high will be near 34. Sunday night will see a 30 percent chance of snow, but will otherwise be mostly cloudy, with a low around 28.

Next week will begin on a warm note. Monday is expected to be partly sunny, with a high near 43.
