More Rain Hits Westport Today, But Temps Will Drop To The 60s

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- After Thursday's thunderstorms and flash flooding drenched Fairfield County, residents can look forward to slightly less rain and cooler temperatures heading into the weekend.

Friday will see showers and possibly thunderstorms throughout the day, with the possibility of some patchy fog in the morning, according to the National Weather Service. New rainfall amounts will total between an tenth and a quarter inch, with some higher amounts possible during thunderstorms. Temperatures will be much cooler than in the past few days, with a high of only 68 expected during the day.

The chance of showers and thunderstorms will continue into Friday night, along with patchy fog after 1 a.m. The low will be around 65.

The weekend is expected to be mostly dry, though there is the possibility of some rain. Saturday will see a 20 percent chance of showers before 1 p.m., as well as patchy fog before 9 a.m. Otherwise, the day will be partly sunny. Temperatures will return to more seasonable levels, with a high near 82. Saturday night will be partly cloudy, with a low around 64.

Sunday is expected to be sunny, with a high near 85. Sunday night will be partly cloudy, with a low around 67.

Next week could get off to a wet start, with a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms predicted for Monday afternoon. Otherwise, Monday will be mostly sunny, with a high near 83.
