Don't Rain on Easton's Parade

Daisies Chelsea Cuseo and Claire Bernard still marched in Easton's Memorial Day Parade even after the Girl Scouts canceled because of thunder and lightning. Boy Scout Troop 66 marched with full camping gear to prepare for a hiking trip in June.

Seven tractors chugged along with signs advertising farms and businesses in town. The Winters family cheered and waved their flags as the fire trucks, Boy Scouts, selectmen, the senior center, the emergency medical services and seven tractors marched by. Even the 1946 Mack Fire Truck made it through the parade with Mike Sabia as its driver.

The parade stepped off at the Easton Fire Department and ended at the Town Hall. The theme of this year's parade was "World Charity," and Post commander and retired U.S. Coast Guard Capt. Tony Unger was the master of ceremonies.
