First, I am not a police officer. I am in information systems. I dont even have a police officer in my family. I just hold the utmost respect for anyone who accepts a career in protecting other people and am appreciative of it UNLIKE YOU. So WRONG already you are. Second, your analogy of a car mechanic vs. a police officer is FLAWED. A mechanic can fix a car (sometimes). Do you really expect any person, the Mayor or the Police, to fix society's failures? What are they supposed to do...wave a magic wand and go back in time and fix these families that turn out these people that commit these crimes and join gangs? Should they wave a wand and go back 20 years and put responsible positive role model father figures in these homes where there clearly were none? oooooh...did I say the forbidden? Instead you should agree and understand that only when the real issues/problems are addressed and political correctness stops will a permanent fix come about. You want the police and mayor and police chief to solve crimes when they get no cooperation from the people involved? I remember people in this forum used to go on and on about how Rilling was a terrible police cheif and claim he was responsible , well he's gone now and the problem continues, so whose fault is it now? All you people here that are so fast to criticize the NPD should go and do the job yourself then. why do we need a 14 member fair rent commission or a fair rent commission at all? How come I cant find a fair rent commission for Greenwich, Westport, New Canaan or Darien? or Stamford for that matter? In fact there are only about 10 towns in the entire state that have them and they are all bottom of the barrel (sorry). Is Norwalk in that category? Thank You Toni Boucher for protecting us from this scam of a bill. Its amazing how many people are so fervently for this when they are not even ill themselves. There are a lot of questions and doubt surrounding the benefits of legal marijuana. 80% of the people FOR it? Really? where does that number come from and who paid for that study? What these people want is NOT walking into a pharmacy and being able to get a limited amount of marijuana and be tracked as to how much they are buying with their drivers license or other ID....they want stores that they can walk into a purchase it freely under the guise of "medical need". They are full of it. If they want to rot their brains and allow drugs to destroy not only themselves but their families as well, let them do it the illegal way. And I'm sick of people pointing to one bad behavior (.i.e. abusing alcohol) and saying that another should be allowed because of it..There are already enough drunks driving around killing people, we don't need to add stoned people to that list.
