UI and its contractors will be working on Route 59 (Easton Turnpike) and Congress Street to reconstruct older splice chambers and a new duct bank to enhance network reliability. Work hours will be between 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Phase one began on Nov. 7 and will last until Dec. 22, phase two began Monday and will continue until April, and phase three will begin in the summer of 2018.
The work will be out in the roadway, with daily lane shifts and periodic closures, which is routine for this kind of work. The Connecticut Department of Transportation has approved work and work hours for the project.
If you have any questions regarding the project, contact Avangrid at (888) 848-3697.
