Update: EASTON/REDDING, Conn. — Route 58 has reopened in Easton and Redding as of 2:50 p.m. Sunday, police said.

On Sunday morning, the Easton Police issued a traffic alert that Route 58 is closed at Valley Road for a tree down. 

Northbound traffic was being detoured via Valley Road. Residents living on Route 58 will have access to their homes.

Redding police reported that Route 58 between Pine Tree Road and the Easton town line due to downed trees and wires. 

Motorists were urged to seek alternate routes in the area.
