WESTON, Conn. Parents will soon have the opportunity to enroll their children in two new athletic programs. Youth football and cheerleading program have been created, Weston High School football coach Joe Lato announced on Friday.
The new Weston Trojan Youth Football and Cheerleading program will join the Fairfield County Football League , which includes Darien, Fairfield, New Canaan, Norwalk, Ridgefield, Westport and Wilton. Trojan youth practices and home games will be held in Weston. The program is open to all Weston children in grades one through eight.
Lato will host a town hall meeting for residents on Feb. 29 at 7 p.m., in the Weston High School cafeteria. Carmen Roda, president of Westport PAL and a league board member, will be the guest speaker.
All Weston parents and players who are interested in joining the youth program are encouraged to attend.
