WESTPORT, Conn. Golfers, there's still time to hit the links this season. The Longshore Golf Course will be open through Christmas Eve, announced Stuart McCarthy, director of Parks and Recreation.
The course, he said, will close for the season at the end of play Saturday. The course usually reopens in March.
"On behalf of the town of Westport, golf professional John Cooper, Superintendent Dan Rackliffe and the entire staff at Longshore, we are happy to have been able to extend the season through Christmas Eve and wish all of our loyal Longshore golfers a happy and healthy New Year," McCarthy said in a statement. "We look forward to seeing you in the spring."
If you plan to tee off Saturday, the National Weather Service is forecasting mostly sunny skies with a daytime high of 36.
