WESTPORT, Conn. – The Westport Police Athletic League will play a football game in memory of former coach Matt McCoy on Saturday at Staples High School.
A ceremony will begin at 6 p.m. to honor McCoy, a Westport resident and longtime PAL coach. McCoy, 43, died last November of cancer. He also coached soccer, baseball and basketball in Westport. He was a former football player at the University of Michigan.
The ceremony will be followed by an eighth-grade game between teams from Westport and Darien. McCoy’s son, Ari, is a member of the Westport team.
