WESTPORT, Conn. – The Westport Blue under-11 boys soccer team is off on its spring season with a win after being crowned the boys U11 division championship Sunday in the 33rd annual Westport Invitational Soccer Tournament at Staples High School.
The tournament, hosted by the Westport Soccer Association, drew 116 boys and girls teams from across the state, New York and Massachusetts despite the wintry weather, WSA said. The tournament is for players ages 9 to 18.
The two-day event kicked off Saturday with girls games and continued Sunday with boys matches. Older teams played on the Staples field while the younger teams played inside the field house.
The division champions were as follows:

Tournament proceeds benefit the WSA and the Coleman Brothers Foundation , which was created in the memory of Keith and Scott Coleman, brothers from Westport who died in the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.
