WESTPORT, Conn. – Wreckers quarterback Jack Massie, an incoming junior at Staples High School, was among 24 high school quarterbacks selected to compete in the MSG Varsity “Tri-State Quarterback Showdown.” The program is scheduled to air Tuesday at 7 p.m., MSG Varsity announced.
This first-ever television special highlights the tri-state area’s top high school quarterbacks as they compete for the title of “Showdown Champion.” Watch as the players perform a variety of challenges that test their speed, strength and accuracy before judges Phil Simms and Amani Toomer, former New York Giants.
“I was really impressed by these student athletes and I enjoyed getting to talk to each of them and help them with their game,” Simms said in a press release. “The tri-state has a great line-up of talent and I look forward to catching some of the games this fall on MSG Varsity.”
Jack was one of four Connecticut quarterbacks who competed in the challenge. The other area students included Darien High School’s Henry Baldwin, Liam O'Neil from Greenwich High School and Brian Castlelot from Bunnel High School in Stratford.
Westport Cablevision subscribers can watch the “Tri-State Quarterback Showdown” on MSG Varsity, Optimum Channel 14. The program will be re-aired Friday, July 20 at 12:30 p.m., Saturday, July 21 at 5 p.m., and Tuesday, Aug. 28 at 7:30 p.m.
