Weston Super 8s Finish with League Best Record

WESTON, Conn. -- The Weston Super 8s won a rain-shortened game against Redding Monday night, 5-0, finishing their season with a league best 9-1 record. Myles Lehrman pitched shutout ball, backed by some slick fielding by Andrew Amato and Johnny Cassol. The big hits came off the bats of Lehrman and Amato, as well as Nicholas Sacchetta and Dante Esposito, accounting for a five run burst in the first inning.

Coach Seve Esposito said he didn't want to see their season end. "This is special group of kids. I can't tell you how many opposing coaches commented to me about how impressed they were with our boys teamwork and upbeat attitude. They made this town proud," he said. They'll get a brief baseball hiatus before Weston Little League begins its fall league next month and this all-star travel team will be once again divided up among AAA Weston teams.
