WESTON, Conn. Weston Highs David Stankiewicz finished sixth and Noah Krassin took eighth to lead the Trojans to a fourth-place team finish Friday at the South-West Conference cross country championships at Bethel High School.
Weston finished with 95 points, the same total as Pomperaug of Southbury. Pomperaug won on the sixth runner tiebreaker.
Stankiewicz covered the 5-kilometer course in 17:18.15, while Krassin ran 17:21:15. Westons other scorers included Matthew Bolin in 23rd in 17:59.9; Cole Clark in 26th in 1:07; and Matthew Proctor in 32nd in 18:12.
Newtowns Jake Feinstein won the race in 16:32.35, followed by Logan Fulton of Joel Barlow in 16:57.39. New Milford won the team title with 50 points, placing five runners in the top 16. Newtown took second.
Weston Highs girls finished 12th. Sara Schweitzer was the top finisher in 45th place.
