A newly created website for high school athletes to chat with peers about issues has launched in its beta phase and is drawing strong feedback, according to Westport's Andy Moss. He developed esmzone.com for students to ask and answer questions and to earn points based on their participation. Moss has provided a promo code for readers of The Daily Westport, TDW2010-1.
"Summer was intended to be a trial period, and it's gone as we pretty much expected,'' said Moss, who serves on the Westport Parks and Recreation Board and the Library Board and is coaching a team in the Westport PAL program. "We've certainly learned lot. And there have been things we've adjusted based on the feedback we've received." The company was just recently selected as a "Company to Watch" in 2010 by the Connecticut Technology Council.
According to the website, the mission of ESMzone.com "is built around a simple formula Ask a good question; get points; provide a valuable Answer; get more points; Win prizes for valued contributions. Questions and Answers the community appreciates, respects, and values increases standing and the possibility of winning. The more a member participates, the more points each one earns. Top point winners receive awards and prizes." Moss said he expects the site to be fully launched in the fall.
