Wilton Wahoo swimmers set two Connecticut records and three Wahoo team records at a meet last weekend at the Wilton YMCA.
The 13-14 boys 400 meter free relay team of Thomas Szilagyi (Ridgefield), Sam DeLise (Easton), Jourdan Stewart (Danbury) and Jordan Berger (Weston) finished in 3:58.15. The time was a new Wahoo team record and broke the state record of 3:58.18, which had stood since 1992.
The 13-14 girls 400 meter free relay of Grace Hendee (Wilton), Stephanie Moriarty (Wilton), Kristen Moss (Wilton) and Verity Abel (Westport) swam 4:16.13 to set a new Wahoo record. The old record was set last year by Abel, Hendee, Olivia Jackson and Moriarty. Their time was 4:25.22.
The boys 13-14 400 meter medley relay team of Sam DeLise, Thomas Szilagyi, Jourdan Stewart and Jordan Berger swam 4:23.50 for Wahoo, state and resident records. The old mark was set by Dan Shevchik, Stephen Schwanhausser, Tim Corcoran and Jonathan Fischer in 1995 at the Age Group Meet with a time of 4:25.89.
