WESTPORT, Conn. Defending champion Alison Tane came up a winner again in the George Buck Tournament of the Longshore Women's Golf Association.
The victory was special for Tane, who grew up learning the game from Buck. He was the teaching professional at Longshore in Westport from 1962 until he died in 1991.
The final match of the three-week tournament came down to a face-off between Tane and Diana O'Donnell. Tane led 1-up entering the 18th hole, and they tied on the final hole to give Tane the victory.
The Buck tournament is one of the signature competitions of the LWGA, which conducts weekly tournaments from April through November. Find out more about the LWGA on its website.
