Staples Shoots Down Ludlowe

Gabe Seidman and Jake Felman scored 17 points apiece Monday night as the Staples High's boys basketball team stopped Fairfield Ludlowe, 54-42, in a Fairfield County Interscholastic Athletic Conference game.

The Wreckers, who already had secured a spot in the upcoming FCIAC playoffs, led 17-6 after the first quarter and 31-16 at halftime. They improved to 14-5 overall and 13-4 in the league. Luke Yeager added 10 points for Staples.

Erik Krumins scored 10 points to pace Ludlowe (9-10, 9-8). The Falcons were eliminated from FCIAC playoff contention and finish up the regular season Wednesday night against Ridgefield. Staples closes its regular season Wednesday against Greenwich. The Wreckers are seeded fifth in the FCIAC playoff seedings.
