Staples Girls Top Ludlowe in Soccer Opener

WESTPORT, Conn. – Staples' girls soccer team got its season off on the right foot Wednesday with a 3-1 victory over Fairfield Ludlowe in a Fairfield County Interscholastic Athletic Conference game.

Abby Fagan scored in the 34th minute for Staples' first goal and a 1-0 halftime lead. Abbey Lake scored the second goal with an assist from Adele Mackay, and Mackay scored with an assist from Turner Block for the final goal.

Staples hosts Bridgeport Central on Thursday and has three tough games next week against Danbury, Ridgefield and Wilton.
