Staples Athletes Earn All-Conference Honors

WESTPORT, Conn. – Staples High School placed three players on the Fairfield County Interscholastic Athletic Conference all-league boys soccer team.

Goalie James Hickok, Taylor McNair and Jake Malowitz were named first team for the Wreckers. Alex Tonsberg, Ben Root and Dylan Evans were named to the All-East team.

In girls soccer, Abbey Lake was named to the first team. St. Joseph’s Sabrina Toole, a Westport resident, was also named to the first team. Staples goalie Jess Ambrose was named to the second team.

Joosje Grever earned first team honors in volleyball for Staples. Ann Link made the second team, and Danielle Kosinski made the third team. Augustine Gradux-Matt was an honorable mention selection.

Misha Strage and Callie Hiner earned first team honors in field hockey. Emily Ashken and Caroline Kearney were named to the West team.

Girls swimming first team honors went to Verity Abel. In cross country, Henry Wynne, Mikolaj Kulis, Patrick Nolan and Marcus Russi earned first team honors for the boys, and Caroline Koenig made first team honors for the girls. Alex Popkin was a second team selection. Complete selections are available on the league website.
