Soccer Star Kristine Lilly Returns To Wilton For Talk On Being A Teammate

WILTON, Conn.– Kristine Lilly, a retired U.S. Women’s National Team soccer player and a two-time World Cup champion, will return to her hometown in a visit to the Comstock Community Center on Tuesday, Dec. 27.

Lilly has been invited by the Connecticut Public Broadcasting Network to speak to local student-athletes from the Wilton soccer community for a profile that will broadcast across CPBN platforms in 2017. The three-time U.S. Soccer Player of the Year will briefly address the audience on “How to be a Teammate.”

Wilton High School captured three CIAC Championships when Lilly attended the school from 1986-1989. She went on to win four NCAA national championships at the University of North Carolina. The 23-year veteran of the U.S. Women’s National Team played on two FIFA World Cup winning sides in 1991 and 1999.

The event will begin at 11 a.m. in the gymnasium of the Comstock Community Center and close at noon. Anyone interested in attention should inquire via email to sports@cptv.org.
