Paul Green, 87, and Mike Pettee, 81, will be among a large contingent of rowers from the Saugatuck Rowing Club competing in the USRowing Masters National Championships this weekend in New Jersey. They went out for one final practice run earlier this week at the club.
Asked about goals, Green said, "Survival finish the course."
He also admitted he still gets nervous before competitions. "It's like you're an actor,'' said Green, who has battled Parkinson's disease for 17 years. "It's good to be nervous a little bit."
