Wave 2 will be for children ages 11 to 13, who will complete a 150-meter swim, a 4-mile bike race and a 1-mile run. The KIC IT Kids Triathlon is the latest event in the growing sport. According to USA Triathlon, triathlon is one of the fastest-growing demographic groups.

Proceeds from both events will benefit Kids in Crisis, the area’s only free emergency shelter and 24-hour crisis counseling center for Fairfield County children and families. Parents and children interested in registering should visit www.kicittriathlon.com.
