Redding's 'Great Turkey Escape' Races On Thanksgiving Morning

REDDING, Conn. -- Redding continues its Thanksgiving morning tradition with runners set to take their places to race in the annual Great Turkey Escape.

The 5K race starts at 8 a.m. Thursday, with a 1K Kids Run at 9 a.m. The race begins and ends at the West Redding Fire Department, located at 306 Umpawaug Road, Redding.

The fee is $35 for the 5K and $15 for the 1K. The price includes a T-shirt while supplies last.

All proceeds will benefit the Redding units of the Boy Scouts of America, the West Redding Volunteer Fire Department and Landmark Preschool Education Fund.
