Redding's Brooklee Han Skates To 21st At World Championships

REDDING, Conn. -- Redding's Brooklee Han skated two clean programs and finished 21st overall in her debut at the World Figure Skating Championships in London, Ontario.

Han scored 91.26 in her long program Saturday evening, finishing 20th in that segment. She had scored personal best of 50.62 points in the short program Thursday. Her final point total was 141.88 to place 21st. 

Han, a 17-year-old senior at Joel Barlow High School, skates for Australia. She trains at the Newington Arena with Serhii Vaypan.

She finished 12th at the Four Continents Championships last month in Osaka, Japan. Han followed up with a 16th place finish at the Junior World Championships earlier this month in Milan, Italy, in the lead up to this week’s world championships.

Reigning Olympic champion Yu-Na Kim of South Korea won the world title for the second time Saturday night.
