The kids in the Weston Summer Lacrosse Clinic find that their toughest competition these days is not one another. For Jack Cannon, Jackson Catalano and the other players, it's the heat.
"I think it makes it a little more difficult," clinic director Josh Thornton said while his boys were resting and drinking water in the shade on another sizzling day.
"We're out here for an hour and half -- it's just making sure we get plenty of water breaks, stay in the shade for a little bit every time we come off [the field]. The breaks are a little longer than normal, but we get enough done and they're going hard," said Thornton, who runs two five-week sessions of his summer clinic.
