Henry Wynne Of Staples Sets Connecticut Record In Dream Mile

WESTPORT, Conn. -- Staples High School senior Henry Wynne set a new Connecticut record as he placed second in the Adidas High School Boys Dream Mile event Saturday on Randall's Island, N.Y., according to the school website.

Wynne ran the mile in 4 minutes and 5.04 seconds, establishing a new school record and personal best. He placed second behind Ben Saarel of Provo, Utah, who won the race in a time of 4:02.72.

Wynne is the national champion in the indoor mile, winning the New Balance Indoor Track and Field High School National Championships at The Armory in New York City in March in a time of 4:08.15.

Wynne is graduating from Staples next month and is headed for the University of Virginia. He had been unbeaten in individual races this school year.
