Danny Guise of Greenwich finished 15th to lead a strong performance by Fairfield County junior golfers in the American Junior Golf Association's Killington Junior Golf Championship. Weston's Joseph D'Amato, Westport's Kirk Massie and Stamford's Michael Troy also played in the event which ended Thursday.
Guise, who earned a spot in the field in qualifying on Monday, shot 75-74-77-226. Zachary Herr of New Hope, Pa., shot 205 to win the competition at Green Mountain National Golf Course, Vt. D'Amato shot 79-77-74-230 and was 24th. Massie fired rounds of 79-81-75-235 to finish tied for 33rd. Troy, who won the Stamford Amateur last weekend, shot 85-81-71-237 to finish tied for 41st.
The AJGA Tour visits Rye, N.Y. beginning Monday with the Apawamis Junior at The Apawamis Club.
