WESTPORT, Conn. – Members of Westport’s 12U All Stars Little League team traveled up to Gov. Dannel Malloy’s mansion in Hartford on Monday, where they were congratulated for their success in the Little League World Series.
During their visit, players were treated to a tour of the governor's mansion and a poolside dinner.
After winning both the state and New England Regional championship titles, the team secured a spot in the Little League World Series, where they placed second in the U.S. and fourth internationally. The World Series games were held in Williamsport, Pa. from Aug. 15 to 25.
Upon returning to Westport, the Little Leaguers were celebrated with a parade and ceremony attended by hundreds. Last Sunday, team members were the honored guests of the New York Yankees during their home game against the Boston Red Sox.
