WESTPORT, Conn. Golfers, its almost time to tee off. The golf course at Westports Longshore Club Park will open for play on Friday, weather permitting, Stuart McCarthy, director of Parks and Recreation announced.
Play will be on a walk-up basis. Golfers will be able to reserve play times beginning March 16, he said.
On Saturday, the Longshore Mens Golf Association will host a course clean-up day beginning at 9:15 a.m. The clean-up day gives the greens crew a great head start on getting the course in tip top conditions, McCarthy said in a statement.
Volunteers are encouraged to bring a pair of work gloves and a rake if they have one. The course will open for play on Saturday following the clean-up.
The National Weather Service is forecasting sunny skies Friday and Saturday, with a high of 47 Friday and a high of 45 Saturday. For updated course status and tee time information, call the pro shop at 203-222-7535.
