Andrew Gai of Westport captured his second straight Metropolitan PGA Junior Tournament of Champions title with a nine-stroke victory at Glen Oaks Club. Gai finished 36 holes with a total of 143, nine shots ahead of Matthew Lowe.
Gai opened up a huge lead with a first-round 67. He finished up with a 76. Gai was the runaway winner in the Met PGA's Junior Player of the Year race with 1,600 points. He won seven of nine tournaments he entered. He will play golf at Campbell University next year. He is entering his senior year at Staples High School.
