Easton's Thomas Taking Center Stage In Party For Stamford Triathlon

STAMFORD, Conn. -- Easton's Chris Thomas, a two-time winner of the Navigators Stamford KIC IT Triathlon, will attend a pre-event celebration on June 18 at the CLAY Health Club + Spa in Port Chester.

The triathlon is scheduled for Saturday, June 27, and Sunday, June 28. Thomas, the three-time USA Triathlon Masters Athlete of the Year, will attend the event at the health club beginning at 7 p.m. CLAY is located at 11 Riverdale Ave. in Port Chester, near the Greenwich border.

A private reception will be held for fundraising athletes of the Navigators Stamford KIC IT Triathlon, 5k and 10k from 7 to 8 p.m. Thomas will chat one-on-one with athletes and share race tips. Individuals interested in taking advantage of this rare opportunity can become fundraising athletes by signing up at www.kicittriathlon.com.

Thomas is a four-time Ironman 70.3 World Championship Age Group Winner (2008, 2009, 2012, 2013); 17-time 70.3 Overall Amateur Champion; and eight-time Ironman World Champion Finisher (four times placing Top 10 in his age group).

Following the private reception, Thomas will deliver an inspirational talk open to the general public on his journey to becoming one of the best amateur triathletes in the country, from 8 to 9 p.m.

The Navigators Stamford KIC IT Triathlon Race Weekend has grown into an outstanding series of athletic events – including a kids triathlon, Olympic and sprint triathlons, and new 5k and 10k runs - attracting competitors from across the country, while maintaining a special focus on offering a fun family experience.

The entire weekend benefits Kids in Crisis, Connecticut’s only free, round-the-clock agency providing emergency shelter, crisis counseling and community educational programs for children of all ages and families dealing with a wide range of crises – domestic violence, mental health and family problems, substance abuse, economic difficulties and more.
