Easton Woman Wins Pequot 5-Mile Race

EASTON, Conn. – Easton’s Meredith Anand won the women’s division Thursday of the Peqout Runners Thanksgiving Day 5-mile road race in Southport. Anand ran 28:48 on the flat course and won comfortably over Stamford’s Sharon Lemberger, who ran 29:16. Hope Krause of New Canaan was third in 29:17.

There were 4,233 finishers in the race, which began at the Wakeman Boys and Girls Club in Fairfield. Cameron Marantz, of Philadelphia, won the event in 25:25, an average of 5:05 per mile. Westport’s Henry Wynne took second, followed by Luke McCambley, also of Westport.
