Austin Calitro — who is 6 feet tall and weighs 245 pounds — was a first team all-state, first team all-county and team captain at Danbury High.

He served as a tri-captain for the 2016 Villanova Wildcats. Calitro tied for the team lead in total tackles with 86 and ranked second on the team in tackles for loss with 12. He also had four pass break-ups and 3.5 quarterback sacks.

Calitro, 23, was named a first team CAA Football All-Conference selection after previously being a third team honoree as a junior in 2015.

During his Villanova career, Calitro helped lead the Wildcats to a 32-17 overall record and two appearances in the FCS playoffs.

He is the third Wildcat to join the NFL in the last two days. Defensive end Tanoh Kpassagnon was drafted in the second round by the Kansas City Chiefs, while offensive tackle Brad Seaton was selected in the seventh round by the Tennessee Titans.
