Ben Casparius had a night to remember Tuesday in the Westport Little League Majors Division. He threw a no-hitter to lead the Astros over the Mets, 8-0, at Kowalsky Field.
Casparius needed just 81 pitches to complete his masterpiece, which he completed in one hour and 10 minutes. The Astros scored four runs in the third and four in the fifth to support Casparius.
Noah Yokoi had three RBIs and stole home for a run for the Astros. Kyle Hackett had two RBIs, while Adam Feuer and Mack Muller also contributed RBIs for the Astros (5-2). Center fielder Feuer made several nice plays to help preserve the no-hitter, and shortstop Yokoi and left fielder Daniel Call also made nice defensive plays. Catchers Mack Muller and Max Richlin also helped Casparius.
