Barlow Runners Shine at League Meet

EASTON, Conn. – Joel Barlow High School’s Logan Fulton finished second in the boys race and Emily Winter was sixth in the girls race Friday at the South-West Conference cross country championships at Bethel High School. Both Barlow teams finished sixth in the team scoring.

In the boys race, Fulton ran 16:57.39, trailing only Jake Feinstein of Newtown on the 5-kilometer course. Feinstein ran 16:32.35.

Barlow’s other scorers included Jonthan Pelzer in 18th in 17:44.79; Noel Gosain, 50th, in 18:57.11; Daniel McCarthy, 53rd, in 19:12.84; and Justin Lee, 55th, in 19:18.93. New Milford won the boys team title.

In the girls race, Winter ran 20:33.76 to pace the Falcons. Caitlin Neary took 31st in 21:59.85, followed by Gabriella Lemma (36th, 22:16.47), Olivia Wilson (41st, 22:41.3) and Abigail Winter (46th, 22:56.69). Immaculate High of Danbury won the team title, and Pomperaug’s Brittany Mendelson won the individual crown in 19:48.86.

Barlow will run in the Class M championships next Saturday at Wickham Park.
