Barlow Girls Run Off With 3 Wins

EASTON, Conn. ? The Joel Barlow girls cross country team beat three teams Tuesday at Wolfe Park in Monroe to improve to 9-3 on the season.The Falcons beat host Masuk, 20-441 and Notre Dame, 15-50, and upset Oxford, 26-31. Oxford was ranked No. 15 in the state in the latest cross country poll.Senior co-captain Emily Winter led the Falcons. She finished first for second overall with a time of 21:07 over the 3.1-mile Great Hollow Lake Course. The next two runners to hit the wire for the Falcons were sophomores Caitlin Neary, finishing fourth in 21:44, and Olivia Wilson, in sixth place recording a time of 22:33. Rounding out the Barlow scoringwere freshmen Gabrielle Lema in 10th and Abby Winter in 11th.The Falcons are back in action on Tuesday, Oct. 11, at home against Immaculate (currently ranked No. 8 in the state poll,) Bethel and Kolbe Cathedral.
